AUSA: Ugly Holiday Sweater Social
Thursday, December 12, 2019, 4:00 AM - 7:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

Folks, the local chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is having its annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Social at the dining area of the Ruggles Golf Course at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD on 12 December 2019 in the afternoon to early evening.  As with other events that we hold, we need the help of people like you to make it a great success.  Please go to https://www.ausa.org/major-general-harry-greene-aberdeen-chapter/events/ugly-sweater-2019 to sign up as sponsor.  As in the past, we will be donating all proceeds to a wonderful non-profit charity. The charity that we have chosen this year is “Stop Soldier Suicide” (https://stopsoldiersuicide.org ) ; a;veteran-founded-and-led 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our Young Professionals are planning for a wonderful event of great fun, good food, and wonderful raffle prizes.

Stop Soldier Suicide serves all service members, veterans, and military families from every branch and every generation, regardless of discharge status.  As a veteran-founded-and-led organization, they understand the unique challenges and stressors of military life. They also know firsthand that when a loved one serves, the entire family does too. Stop Soldier Suicide serves every member of the military and veteran communities — including military spouses, kids, parents, and siblings.  Whether you or your loved one are currently serving (active duty, reserves, or guard) or have transitioned out of the military, the Stop Soldier Suicide team stands ready to provide assistance and support to help you navigate the challenges you’re faced with.

We will be inviting the entire APG community to attend and expect participation from many Army senior leaders here.

For those of you from the St. Mary’s and Mater Dei family, I thought you’d want to know that the co-founder and chairman of Stop Soldier Suicide is Brian Kinsella; son of Helen (Glowzenksi) and Brian Kinsella.  This is an incredibly young man who proudly served our nation in uniform and continues to do great things in helping those who have been a part of the military community.
